I am sad upon learning of the untimely death of The Honorable Member of the Senate of Canada, Senator Tobias Enverga. My heartfelt condolence to the Family and to the Filipino Community in Canada for his death. Not all immigrants are given the opportunity to be represented in the Senate. He was indeed a source of pride of the Filipino People. He was not only a Filipino but a true Filipino who works for the best interests of the Filipino immigrants in Canada. Though a Canadian Citizen but definitely he has not surendered his Filipino heart to his selfish interests. His was a heart that continuosly cares for the Filipino immigrants especially those in difficult situations. I was in Canada few months back and i visited his office. In fact he was supposed to attend an official activity but opted to meet me at his office in Ottawa. He was so warm. His was a welcoming and a caring presence to anybody who gets into his Office. His death was a loss to all immigrants particularly the Filipinos. My prayers for the eternal peace of his soul. Leoncio B Evasco Jr Cabinet Secretary Republic of the Philippines

Although I only seen you in one of the gatherings in Scarborough. But it broke my heart when I heard about your passing. How can an active person with a good heart and all he think and care about is the welfare of his community and his people get taken away so soon. God bless your family left behind!
