SENATOR ENVERGA’S STATEMENT ON REMEMBRANCE DAY

Toronto, November 11, 2016 – Every year on Remembrance Day, we honour the brave men and women who fell on the battlefield, our veterans and members of the Canadian Forces who dedicate their lives in service of Canada.
During both World Wars, the Korean and Afghanistan Wars and other conflicts throughout the years, hundreds of thousand Canadian soldiers have stood proudly with our allies in defense of freedom and justice.
This Remembrance Day, let us remember the courage of Canadian men and women who have sacrificed so much to make Canada the country that it is today. Let us also recognize the families of these brave individuals, who provide much-needed support to our men and women in uniform.
May the memories of our fallen live forever in our hearts. On behalf of a grateful country, we thank each and every Canadian soldier and their families for their service and sacrifice. We will always remember; we will never forget.
